WHAT IS UNDEAD NIGHTMARE II?
On May 18th, 2010, Rockstar San Diego released Red Dead Redemption. on October 26th of that same year, they would release Undead Nightmare, a zombie themed DLC for the Western. In 2018, on the same day Undead Nightmare released, Red Dead Redemption II was published. Several years later I would become obsessed with this game series and began writing for fun again. Like most players, I fell in love with the second game before playing the first. I adorred the characters, setting, themes, and just everything this game had. When I got my hands on the first game, the same thing happened... and then I played Undead Nightmare. I was bad at it, but I still loved it! Before westerns and cowboys, and even still after, I have been a massive horror hound. I loved the idea of a horror themed DLC for this series. But there was no second DLC, nor any sign there would be.
I give this background to help explain the story. This is a work of love and care, and because of the circumstances of why I started writing this, I try to write like it's a real, genuine attempt at a second DLC. I know Rockstar will never see this or likely ever make UN2, but I still try to write like they will. (I honestly hope they never make UN2 or RDR3, but that's another conversation.)
Undead Nightmare II follows the Van der Linde gang from Arthur Morgan's perspective. The world has ended, and they need to fix it. It has the main themes of physical, terminal disease, mental illness, and family, or more specifically, fatherhood. Arthur, the main main character, represents all three of these - he suffers from tuberculosis, self-hatred, two bad father figures, and a failed family, with a high risk of failing his gang family as well. Dutch, the second main character, represents the latter two only, and gives a more in depth perspective to mental illness than Arthur is capable of. All of these themes are everpresent among this dying world and eventually they will all collide in the end.
Currently, this story is only avaliable on Archive of Our Own, and is linked bellow. This is my only official site for this story (the linked Tumblr account is personal, and is only listed here for questions and such - if you know a website for just QnAs, please tell me!) Two of the fifteen chapters have been posted, but I've improved since the first chapter's publication and I plan to rewrite it, and the second chapter was posted with minimal editting due to frustration on my end. Both are still entirely cannon, but will be improved later. I'd love you to read this story and leave kudos or even a comment!

Hey! I go by hound4horror or just hound. I'm your typical neocities user; queer, trans, and autistic. Here s a few rapid fire funfacts: my favorite author is Andrew Joseph White, my favoirte book of his is You Weren't Meant to be Human. Besides the RDRedemption series, my favorite games are No, I'm Not a Human and The Last of Us Part I. My favorite movie is either American Psycho or Sinners (Iron Lung is an honorable mention.) I'm a metalhead and baby bat goth. I'm very mentally ill and am part of a DID system. If you keep up with my AO3 you know other alters write as well, and there is a few that help me with this one. Shout out to my headmates J. E. and, eventually, June. My best friend is also my editor and insanity encourager, he's linked on most of my AO3 posts.
I'm also a horror and western enthusiast currently working on a personal passion project, UNDEAD NIGHTMARE II! I was always dissapointed Rockstar never made a second zombie DLC, and I eventually realized that I'm a writer, have free will, and can do that. So I then began my quest, which is nearing on four years now.
This story has consumed my life entirely. I spend all my time in front writing or thinking about or drawing art of UN2. I am always open for conversation about my works! My main goals with this story are to entertain and comfort readers and myself. It's indredibly self-indulgent at times, and makes me want to pull my hair out at others - but it's still my darling. I mostly keep information about my drafts private, but I wanted to share this story as there is just so much to it. I hope you'll come along for the ride, partner.
Besides this project, I have another series I work on in my free time with my friend Trbotunnel. It's a werewolf AU for RDRedemption. I wrote 2 of the stories there, Lycanthrope and A Familiar Gaze, both following the sopping wet wolf that is John Marston. I'd suggest checking those out as well, though I'm not very confident in those works compared to everything else, but do check out But I'll Rot Like A Dog, that one is good. In the future, there may also be a collaborative website for that series as well since I had a lot of fun making this and just why not, you know?
